Hveragerði is located 45 kilometers away from Reykjavík center.  The road is one of the best in Iceland and even though it winds its way over Hellisheiði mountain you barely notice the difference in height.  The tour in itself is well worth taking as you can experience icelandic nature and its forces at its best.  In wintertime it is though adviseable to pay good notice to the weather forecast just in case.  

Busses leave from Mjodd bus station 11 times during the day and that is by far the best way to travel unless you have your own car.
